Firewall rule 5000160 against bots

By default, Cloud86 automatically blocks a lot of bots/web crawlers that can cause inconvenience. Specifically these bots: Ahrefs, AhrefsSiteAudit, SemrushBot, Screamingfrog and TikTok. You can create an exception in Plesk in the firewall so that these bots are allowed on specific (sub)domains. Below is an example for allowing these bots on the example domain cloud86example.com.

Login on Plesk Control Panel

  1. In My Cloud86 (link), click in the left menu on My Services.
  2. Click the 3 dots behind the web hosting package you want to see in Plesk and click View Details.
  3. Under the heading Manage Webhosting (middle of the page), click on Websites & Domains.
  4. You will now be automatically logged into the Plesk Control Panel.

Allowing web crawlers at domain

  1. In Plesk, in the left menu click on Websites & domains, find the (sub)domain for which you want to allow bots/web crawlers and click on Web Application Firewall.
  2. Under the Switch off security rules tab, enter the rule 5000160 by Security rule IDs and click OK.
  3. Repeat the steps for other (sub)domains for which you also want to create the firewall exception.
