Setup Two-factor-authentication (2FA) for Plesk Control Panel

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is crucial for securing online accounts. Traditional password security is vulnerable to hacking and phishing attacks. 2FA adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second authentication method in addition to the password, such as a one-time code via an app or SMS. This makes it harder for attackers to gain access even if they have obtained the password. Below are the steps to enable 2FA in Plesk.

  1. In Plesk, go to the right top and click on your profile name (John Doe) and select Edit Profile.

  2. At the section MFA, click on Change the current MFA settings.
  3. Click the Enable Multi-factor Authentication checkbox, scan the QR Code with an Authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Enter the authentication code and click OK.EN Plesk_ login, Google Authenticator setup.png
  4. The next time you log into Plesk, you will have to enter the verification code from the Authenticator app.EN Plesk_ login, Google Authenticator login.png
