Migrating your domain to Cloud86

Transferring your domain to Cloud86 can be done in a few steps. If you want to move your domain, you need a so-called EPP key (also known as a token). This is a code or password that you need to transfer your domain to us. This EPP key can be obtained from your current provider. Once you have the EPP key you can follow the steps below to transfer your domain to us. There may be costs associated with transferring a domain, the exact costs per domain can be found on our website (link to domain transfer, scroll down a bit).

Note: Are you using our migration service? Then we will move the domain for you. We always do this last, to make sure the website works before we move the domain. When transferring the domain the nameserver data changes and you will have to make sure that the DNS records are set correctly beforehand. See also Manage DNS settings.

Login on My Cloud86 Dashboard

Use the following steps to log in to Cloud86:

  1. Go to the url: my.cloud86.io
  2. Enter the email address you used when registering.
  3. When you placed the order, you provided a password for your account. Forgot which password you used? Then have a new one sent to you via the forgotten password link.

Domain transfer

  1. Add the domain to the DNS Zone (Add domain to DNS Zone) so that the DNS records become active after the transfer.
  2. Click on the left menu on Domains and then Transfer Domain to us.
  3. Enter the domain name you want to move (without www. and extra spaces). Then click Transfer Now.
  4. Next, enter the EPP key / token you received from your current provider, and then click Confirm.
  5. Check the domain name and EPP/Transfer Code and click Continue.
  6. On the next screen, check that you agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  7. And finally click on Checkout.

It varies per domain how long it takes to move them. For a .nl and .be domain, this concerns up to 4 hours. For .com and .net domain, it can take up to 6 days to move. For the exact information per domain, you can look it up at support.openprovider.eu and check the Transfer subheading.
