When you install your web hosting package, an FTP address is created by default in Plesk that you can use to upload files or a website. You can reset the password of this account to use it or you can create additional FTP users that you can use to manage the files on the web hosting.
Login on Plesk Control Panel
- In My Cloud86 (link), click in the left menu on My Services.
- Click the 3 dots behind the web hosting package you want to see in Plesk and click View Details.
- Under the heading Manage Webhosting (middle of the page), click on Websites & Domains.
- You will now be automatically logged into the Plesk Control Panel.

FTP: Create account/user
- In Plesk, go to Websites & Domains and find the domain where you want to create an FTP user. At the domain, under the Dashboard tab, click FTP.
- In the new window, you will see the default created FTP user (in our example: csyxxchg) and you can add a new FTP user by clicking the Add an FTP account button.
- Fill in the required information. More information about the settings are below and click Apply.
- FTP account name: this will be the user name for access.
- Home directory: select the default folder where the user should go when connecting to the FTP account (a user cannot go to a folder higher than this one). By default, the main domain of the Web Hosting Package is put down in the httpdocs folder. Other domains/subdomains can be found by clicking on files in step 1 and seeing which folder you end up in.
- Password: the password required for access.
Now that you have created an FTP account, you can use these credentials to login via FTP. See FTP: Upload/Download Files via FTP for this.
