Cloud86: Fair use Policy

We do our best to keep our servers fast and stable for everyone. That is why we have established a number of guidelines for the use of our hosting plans. These guidelines apply to all our shared hosting products: Web Hosting, Email Hosting, AI Website Builder, Managed WordPress, and WooCommerce Hosting.

What do we mean by excessive usage?

We consider excessive usage to occur when the use of your hosting plan puts pressure on the shared server, causing inconvenience for other customers, for example when websites load more slowly.

Common causes

  • Use of backup plugins
  • Cache preloading
  • Data imports/exports or synchronizations
  • Using storage space for purposes other than your website or email
  • Internal or external cron jobs that are misconfigured or run too frequently (for example, every minute)
  • Heavy or poorly optimized plugins and scripts
  • Large amounts of bot traffic or crawlers on your website

How can you view resource usage?

The server monitors resource usage for every hosting plan. You can view these statistics in Plesk: HTTP 503 message or my website is very slow or sluggish. How do I fix this?

Sending email messages

We ask you to be mindful when sending large numbers of email messages within a short period of time, or when sending spam messages. This can negatively affect the IP reputation of our servers.

The limit is a maximum of 250 messages per hour per hosting plan. If you want to send newsletters or mailing campaigns, use an external specialized service such as Brevo or Mailchimp. For more information about the hard limit we apply, see How many emails can I send per hour?

What happens if your hosting plan causes excessive usage?

We will contact you as quickly as possible so we can work together on a suitable solution. We will also always inform you of any changes we have already implemented to stop the excessive usage.

If the excessive usage has a significant impact on the stability or performance of the server or affects other customers, we will take immediate technical measures. This may include disabling plugins, scripts, or other parts of your website, or temporarily limiting email sending from your hosting plan. In the most serious cases, it may be necessary to temporarily deactivate the hosting plan or the website causing the excessive usage.

Cloud86 reserves the right to modify this Fair Use Policy at any time. The most recent version will always be available on this page. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us by email at support@cloud86.io.
