Microsoft 365: First time login

When you ordered the product, you received an email with a Microsoft365 username (=Login ID) & password. With these credentials, you can log in to Microsoft's admin panel (admin.microsoft.com).

Microsoft 365: First login as admin

  1. Go to the url: admin.microsoft.com.
  2. Enter your username and password here, this is the Login ID and Password in the mail from Pax8 (for example mail see: Microsoft 365: Delivery email Pax8)
  3. Because it is the first time that you login, you have to change the password.
  4. After changing the password, you will be asked to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) for the account. You can temporarily delay this by clicking Later prompts, but eventually you will need to set it up. See the following guide from Microsoft 365 to set up 2FA (Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app) or the steps below....
  5. If you want to stay logged in, check Don't show this again and click Yes, otherwise click No.

Microsoft 365: Setting up 2FA (recommended)

If you pressed Next in the previous step, then you can start setting up 2FA directly. If you pressed Ask Later then you can add the login method by going to do following url: https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and clicking on Add Login Method. The method we are going to add is using an Authenticator App. Alternatively you can also setup login by sending a text message to your phone.

  1. Download and install an Authenticator App, in this example we use the Microsoft Authenticator App (Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app), but you can also use other Authenticator apps.
  2. After installing, click Next and Next.

  3. Scan the QR Code in the App (+, Work or School Account, Scan a QR Code) and click Next.
  4. Now authentication is performed and enter the number displayed. After that, you have successfully set up 2FA. Microsoft will now ask you to setup a second method. This can either be a phone number or alternative email address.
