SSH: Connect with SSH

Each Hosting plan includes the option to create an SSH account. You will need to change the password for this account in the Plesk environment. Then you can set up a connection to SSH via the terminal or an SSH program such as PuTTY, for example.

Login on Plesk Control Panel

  1. In My Cloud86 (link), click in the left menu on My Services.
  2. Click the 3 dots behind the web hosting package you want to see in Plesk and click View Details.
  3. Under the heading Manage Webhosting (middle of the page), click on Websites & Domains.
  4. You will now be automatically logged into the Plesk Control Panel.

For the full manual with images, follow Login to Plesk

Setup SSH connection

  1. In Plesk, select a domain, click Hosting & DNS and then Hosting.
  2. In the new window, you will see System User Credentials. Type the SSH account password. Write down the IP address, username and password. These details are needed for the SSH connection and click on Save.
  3. You can now create an SSH connection using the terminal (command prompt) or a program such as PuTTY. Enter the ip address, username and password. If you are asked for a port it is 22. Below we have put down an example for connecting to a Windows Terminal (command prompt). When typing the password you will not see any characters, that is a security measure.

>ssh csyxxchg@45.82.191.14
csyxxchg@45.82.191.14's password:
[csyxxchg@shared11 ~]$

If you are successfully connected to SSH, then you can use the standard Linux commands . In addition, you can now use Composer and WP-CLI. You can address Composer with the command “Composer” and WP-CLI with “WP”.
