Overview of Plesk features
Once in Plesk, we can distinguish 4 blocks of functionalities. Below we discuss each of the different blocks and what you can do there.
- The left menu of Plesk
- Adding domains, subdomains and domain aliases.
- Managing domains, subdomains
- The right menu of Plesk
Plesk: Left menu
- Websites & domains: Overview of all domains, subdomains and aliases. Here are also the dashboards per (sub)domain and alias.
- Mail: In this section you can create and manage email addresses, including aliases, forwarding and automatic replies. In addition, you can configure DKIM settings and set up a catch-all for your email domain here.
- Files: Here are the files associated with a domain or subdomain. By default, the main domain (package name) is in the httpdocs folder. Other domains and subdomains default to a folder with the name of the (sub)domain.
- Databases: Here you can see all the databases present on the web hosting package. By default, each WordPress installation uses its own website and you can also specify here which database is used for which website.
- Statistics: Here you can see the usage statistics of the entire web hosting package and the data traffic used.
- Users: These are the users who can log in directly to your web hosting package by using the server name (Plesk: Where can I find my server name and ip address?).
- Account: This is the main account which is automatically created when you order a Web Hosting Package.
- WordPress: A list of all WordPress websites on the Web Hosting Package. WP Toolkit in Plesk is designed for easy management of WordPress sites, with tools for installation, management, updates, security and backups.
